At the heart of the X100VI lies the high-resolution 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor, equipped with an enhanced image-processing algorithm that heightens resolution while maintaining optimal signal-to-noise ratio for impeccable image quality. The sensor's refined pixel structure enhances light absorption efficiency, ensuring stellar performance even in challenging lighting conditions. Paired with the newly developed X-Processor 5 engine, boasting 64-bit processing capability, the camera achieves unprecedented speed for both photo and video tasks. The X100VI's robust video capabilities allow for internal recording at up to 6.2K resolution at 30p in 10-bit color, alongside a 4K HQ mode that oversamples 6.2K footage for superior 4K output. Additionally, higher frame rate options such as 4K 60p or FHD 240p are also available.

A notable enhancement to the X100VI is the integration of in-body image stabilization, a first for the series. The improved processing power also enhances autofocus performance, delivering a faster, more intelligent hybrid focusing system with 425 phase-detection points. With a 35mm full-frame equivalent focal length, the bright f/2 aperture excels in low-light conditions and enables shallow depth of field effects. Additionally, the built-in 4-stop ND filter allows for greater exposure control and facilitates working with shallow depth of field. While the lens maintains a fixed focal length, the camera offers 1.4x and 2x digital teleconverter settings to simulate longer focal lengths of 49mm and 70mm, respectively.

The X100VI's unique Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder combines both optical and electronic viewfinder types, offering the versatility to switch between an OVF and an EVF as needed. The optical viewfinder provides a clear, lifelike view of the scene for seamless composition and subject tracking.
