Equipped with a cutting-edge back-illuminated CMOS sensor of approximately 20 effective megapixels and a high-performance imaging engine, the WG-8 delivers high-resolution, low-noise images that maintain excellent clarity even when cropped or enlarged.

Despite its compact, lightweight body, the WG-8 includes a five-times optical zoom lens with a 5mm to 25mm focal length range (approximately 28mm to 140mm in 35mm format), suitable for capturing wide landscapes or distant subjects.

The WG-8 supports 4K video recording (3840 x 2160 pixels) and features Movie SR (Shake Reduction) and Movie SR+ modes for HD and Full HD recording to produce smooth, shake-free footage.

Designed for ease of use in tough conditions, the WG-8's sturdy aluminum body includes a mode dial for quick setting changes and a vertical zoom button for easy zoom operation. The widely spaced control buttons on the back panel are accessible even with gloved hands.

Customizable Green and ADJ (adjustment) buttons allow users to assign functions like exposure compensation, image size, aspect ratio, ISO sensitivity, and white balance for quick adjustments. Frequently used settings can be programmed to the U1 and U2 positions on the mode dial.

The WG-8 features a high-resolution 3.0-inch LCD monitor (3:2 ratio, approximately 1,040,000 dots) with an AR (Anti-Reflection) coating to minimize glare and reflections outdoors. The Outdoor View Setting function adjusts the monitor's brightness to suit ambient light conditions.

Built-in GPS functionality records position and travel log data from GLONASS and GPS satellites, synchronizing images with location data for enhanced post-shooting enjoyment. GPS data, directional information from the digital compass, and UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) can be imprinted on the lower right corner of images.
