The PENTAX WG-1000 is built to withstand tough conditions with its all-weather design. It is waterproof down to 15 meters for up to one hour, dustproof, and shockproof from falls up to two meters.

This camera features a back-illuminated CMOS sensor with 16.35 effective megapixels, ensuring sharp, clear, high-resolution images. Its compact, lightweight body houses a four-times optical zoom lens with a focal length range from 4.9mm to 19.6mm (27mm to 108mm in 35mm format), extendable to 24 times with Digital Zoom.

The WG-1000 offers seven capture modes, including Auto Picture for automatic scene detection, Manual for adjustable aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, Underwater for true-to-life underwater colors, and Scene with 18 options.

Twenty Color modes allow for creative image enhancements, such as Japan Style for bluish hues, Italian Style for greenish hues, French Style for reddish hues, Negative for a film-like effect, and Sketch for a drawing-like look.

The camera supports Full HD Movie recording at 30 frames per second and High-Speed Movie recording for slow-motion videos (640x480 at 120 fps). An easily accessible Movie button ensures quick start of video recording.

The WG-1000's rugged build makes it suitable for construction and work sites. It can be sterilized with ethanol, sodium hypochlorite, or chlorine dioxide solutions, making it ideal for medical and industrial use.

Dual strap lugs enable horizontal suspension using the optional O-ST174 Neck Strap, allowing for convenient cross-body carrying.
