Designed to scan film formats from 35mm to 4x5", the Basic Riser XL is taller and more stable than the Basic Riser MK3. The 4x5" Light Source Basic MK2 delivers an ultra-bright output, 2-3 stops brighter than the previous model. The Basic Film Carrier 35 MK2 and Basic Film Carrier 120 MK2 use a double S-curve design for keeping film flat, with interchangeable inserts for scanning other formats or capturing full borders. The Basic Mounted Slide Scanning Kit supports modern and vintage slides, while the Basic 4x5" Sheet Film Scanning Kit pairs seamlessly with the 4x5" Light Source Basic MK2 for easier large-format and single-negative scanning.

With a maximum height of 26", the Basic Riser XL supports 4x5" film scanning with focal lengths up to 90mm (full-frame equivalent), 120 film with over 100mm focal lengths, and 35mm film with most macro lenses. It accommodates professional DSLR systems like the Canon 1DX and Nikon D5, large mirrorless cameras such as the Leica SL, Canon EOS R3, and Nikon Z9, and most digital medium format setups. The riser head, similar to the Pro Riser MK3, features a secure T-handle mounting system, a side window for 1/4"-20 screw access, and a rear locking knob to maintain the set height.
