Built with a lightweight fiberglass enclosure for easy rig mounting, the FR-AV2 features a bright 2" color LCD for clear outdoor visibility. Fine-tune your audio before capture with built-in tools like a low-cut filter, compressor, limiter, and noise gate. Recording to microSDXC cards up to 512GB at resolutions up to 192 kHz, this unit also doubles as a 2-in/2-out USB-C audio interface for Mac, Windows, and iOS, letting you sync pro-grade audio with your iPhone/iPad setup. Power it via three AA batteries, USB bus power, or an optional AC adapter.

With its advanced 32-bit float recording, the FR-AV2 ensures distortion-free audio, eliminating concerns about clipped or weak signals. Unlike 24-bit or 16-bit recording, which can be compromised by loud sources, dual analog-to-digital converters capture an extended dynamic range, letting you boost dialogue without affecting tone.

Its two Ultra HDDA preamps deliver crystal-clear audio with ultra-low noise (-127 dBu EIN). A 3.5mm stereo input allows for additional sources, including wireless and lavalier microphones. Timecode can be generated or read via 3.5mm in/out, ensuring precise synchronization with DSLR or mirrorless cameras, as well as external timecode devices via Jam-Sync. A high-precision temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TXCO) maintains stable sync, even in extreme conditions.

The optional AK-BT2 Bluetooth adapter unlocks wireless timecode sync with Atomos UltraSync BLUE devices and enables real-time wireless audio monitoring. Choose from three monitoring modes to optimize connectivity, sound quality, and latency. With dual monitoring capabilities, two users can listen simultaneously - one wired, one wireless.

Designed for long shoots, the FR-AV2 supports up to 2GB on microSD, 32GB on microSDHC, and 512GB on microSDXC cards, reducing the need for frequent card swaps. Its Auto File Save function protects against data loss, automatically saving recordings every 20 seconds to prevent unexpected disruptions.
